Yoichi Wada has been speaking at the Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit in Tokyo and he has commented on the need for Square Enix to break out of its traditional role and become a much more competitive force - even to the point of obtaining stakes in game developers.
Wada explained:
"We face competition not only from Japanese videogame companies but from game companies worldwide. We also see some new players from outside the videogame industry coming in,"
