Hot on the heels of Kionae's news surrounding SE trademarking The Last Remnant, Games Are Fun, via Game Informer, are reporting details as to what The Last Remnant will contain.
There will be two playable characters- one to appeal to Western audiences, the other for a Japanese gaming audience. Rush Sykes is an 18 year old sword wielding hero. The Conqueror is shrouded in mystery with a dark and cruel demeanor.

According to IGN, Square Enix are planning to replace their White Engine for Epic's Unreal Engine 3 for future next gen titles after Final Fantasy XIII.
Square noted the new platform would be used "throughout the company, utilizing proprietary technologies as well as third-party solutions such as Unreal Engine 3."
