Yoichi Wada, the Square Enix CEO, has been speaking at the Tokyo Game Show and urging fellow companies, as well as his own, to make more adult games.
He feels that the opinion of the Asian market is that videogames are just for children- a view, which Wada hopes changes- and that there is a whole older demographic that needs to be catered for.

At the Square Enix event, where the release date for Final Fantasy XIII in Japan was confirmed, the control system was also detailed.
Lucky gamers had the chance to play the Tokyo Game Show build of the game and at each demo station, the controls were posted for help.
According to Zergwatch, the controls were as follows:
• Directional Pad. In the Field: Not used. In Battle: Toggle through targets, commands

The Tokyo Game Show has usually been an event where Square Enix have a very exclusive and behind closed doors showing of special trailers for their most hotly anticipated games.
Tetsuya Nomura revealed in an interview with Famitsu that Square Enix will not be having a Closed Mega Theatre this year. Nomura explained that the company are focusing on promoting their titles in the order of their release.

The Tokyo Game Show is underway and details regarding certain games is being released over the internet.
Release dates for some of Square Enix upcoming computer games have been revealed (For Japan anyway and they seem pretty general):
Final Fantasy Dissidia- December 18th
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days- February
Dragon Quest IX- March
Even more vague release dates that just say 2009 for Japan- Final Fantasy XIII and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep,
