The Last Remnant Revealed?

Hot on the heels of Kionae's news surrounding SE trademarking The Last Remnant, Games Are Fun, via Game Informer, are reporting details as to what The Last Remnant will contain. There will be two playable characters- one to appeal to Western audiences, the other for a Japanese gaming audience. Rush Sykes is an 18 year old sword wielding hero. The Conqueror is shrouded in mystery with a dark and cruel demeanor. 'Remnants' seems to refer to objects, such as animals and weapons that contain great power. The battle system, according to the site, will resemble Legend of Dragoon, with QTE button pressing. Four different races will be in the game: humans, aquatic fish-beings, lizard humanoids, and feline humanoids. Hiroshi Takai will direct- his debut. He has worked on The Bouncer, SaGa Frontier, and Legend of Mana. The game is running on the Unreal 3 engine, which is probably the most important piece of news, which means either the Xbox360 or PS3 will play host to this game (at first) as this has yet to be confirmed for a system. About the Unreal 3 engine: wasn't there some news a while back where Square-Enix said they were going to start using the Unreal 3 engine as their main engine and not develop their own? | ||
