Chrono Trigger Is Coming To The DS

Chrono Trigger is being released on the Nintendo DS system, according to many reports across the internet. A full remake seems unlikely as the Famitsu scans, where the news originated, imply a simple port- but maybe with added content. The RPG giants could just be testing the water to see how well this does- then maybe a whole remake could be released. Our affiliate website, Forever Fantasy, comment that it will be released sometime this coming Winter. The game looks like it will come to the US as this official site has been opened by Square Enix: Official Site Is this welcome news for you fans of Chrono Trigger? While a remake might be interesting, just porting the game over seems a waste. Any moron can get a ROM file of the game and be done with it.

Thats exactly what i was thinking, they need to do the same thing they did for ff III and IV and make it all 3d looking. because for serios the rom thing is kindof true. hifty: |

holy ****ing ****, this is actually pretty awesome, as I don't see any other way why I would replay this game unless it was on a handheld. this is awesome.

it will be an enhanced port, with a brand new dungeon and wireless play, according to some sites.

I'm very excited to know this is coming to the DS. Been neglecting it as of late, ever since I got a PSP. I would like for there to be an additional side quest and/or extra dungeons just so it makes a worthy bonus to have. Magus <3 |

as long as they can find a cool use for the touch screen that is not like the zelda or ninga gaiden games, then I'll be happy to pick this game up and play it again. damn, the nostalgia is killing me. |

When I first heard about CTDS I was thinking, ho-hum. Probably just wishful thinking for a DS port to see the light of day. And then I saw everything Square Enix has done, and at that point I realized, this is the REAL DEAL. I've been awaiting this for a VERY long time. This is definitely getting a preorder from me. |

Like every other Square-fanboy (yes, I'll admit it, will you?), I'm looking forward to this release. I'm glad to see them (Square Enix and Nintendo) attempting to revive such classics and turn them out to a newer, younger audience. To be honest, I believe all of these hand-held Nintendo releases by Square Enix will eventually become their greatest accomplishment. Older gamers such as ourselves who've been playing these games since the NES and SNES are clearly still interested, while younger gamers who never had the chance to play such titles on their original platform will get them whole, plus a little extra. Good choice of movement, Square. |
