The director of Final Fantasy XIII, Motomu Toriyama, commented recently on the difficulty of remaking Final Fantasy VII and its unique style for the current next gen consoles. Difficult it may be, but that hasnt stopped other key players at Square Enix voicing their approval or at least interest in a remake of FFVII, such as the producer of Final Fantasy XIII, Yoshinori Kitase, who had this to say: “I’m really interested to see this more complete form of Final Fantasy VII portrayed more realistically with the voice and animation and all the suttle expressions there. “I’d be interested to see that and to make that, it would be a great experience. I don’t get tired of people asking that question, so I’ll continue to answer my thoughts as long as people keep asking.” You can watch a translated interview with Kitase, as he talks about FFXIII and also FFVII at the source.
