Japanese rumor mill hints at FFXII spinoff

According to gaming sites Total Video Games and Spong, sources in Japan are claiming that Square Enix is developing a spinoff of the twelfth Final Fantasy for the Nintendo DS. It is not clear whether the game would be a continuation of the PS2 game's storyline, or a set of "missing" chapters that take place during the games events. Rumors of further remakes of the early games a-la Final Fantasy III for the DS are also beginning to surface. Whether there is any truth to these claims or not may be revealed at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show at the end of this month. Final Fantasy XII for the PS2 is set for a North American release on October 31, 2006. Final Fantasy III is due out November 15, 2006. Source: Total Video Games, Spong Add to Digg
