Final Fantasy XIII Scans from V-Jump

The current issue of V-Jump has some pretty scans of the announced Final Fantasy XIII games. The screenshots from FFXIII are the same ones we've been seeing for awhile now, but the issue does have a couple new pictures of Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

Among them, a nice shot of the silver-haired figure from Versus, looking very angsty, and seated in a similar pose to the female character in FFXIII. The article clearly indicates a connection between the two of them, and at least some of the article focuses on on FFXIII's 'real-time battle' system.

It actually kinda reminds me of Prince of Persia: the Two Thrones. It had something similar to it, two dudes on a throne quite opposing.

Perhaps FF versus XIII is about the dude VS the woman?

The logos of both games do seem to indicate that the woman is the main character for FFXIII, while the dude is the main character for FF vs XIII. And the FFXIII Agito logo seems to have both characters in it. So the way I see it, all three games announced so far will all play a big role in the whole project.

FFXIII tells the story of the woman, VS about the dude, and Agito about their interweaved story, perhaps?

I think that silver haired guy looks bored, or indifferent, as opposed to angsty. Cool scans, in any case.

I was hoping Square would start designing male leads that aren’t homosexual again for this game, but it looks like I’ll have to wait even longer now.

Still, looks visually amazing.

I'm not so concerned about the fact that they have effeminate looking guys, this is part of their culture and even their history. What shits me is that they keep having silver haired villains. WHY!? Ultimecia, Kuja, Yunalesca. Not to mention Riku and Ansem... Fucking hell Nomura, enough is enough.

Kuja was Yoshitaka Amano's design, wasn't he? Nomura didn't do FF IX. ;)

Too right, Kio.

Silver hair is still way overused. ;)

This game looks delicious.

Has anyone noticed on the last scan, there's the 2 pics of the woman and man next to each other. There's a circle drawn near each of their necks, like it's pointing to something around both their necks. Same for their swords. http://www.ffrepublic.com/pics/27-pqxqhqccti.jpg

Just a little thing I noticed, maybe they're wearing a pendant or something that are connected in some way.

Yeah, I noticed that, too... but the scan's not high enough quality to see what's going on there, though the katakana seems to say "fastener".

On the bigger scans, something like a pendant or something doesn't seem to appear, just zippers. I think those circles are aimed at the persons themselves, not on a specific item on them.

I guess it's indicating a comparison between them, wouldn't be surprised at all if they were related somehow.

Double checking, the katakana really DOES say fastener... as in the zippers on their costumes. No idea WTF that's all about though... it's kind of a bizarre similarity to point out.

The question above the picture asks "How are the 3 titles related?" (or something along those lines....).

Kionae’s posts make me wish I knew anything at all about Japanese.

You know a lot more Japanese than I do :monster:

although I always do have the option to take it next year; it’s offered at my new school. Hmm. Japanese or German, that is the question. I’m already signed up for German though.

German is a great language for verbally abusing people with, because it would scare the absolute fuck out of them. Imagine Till Lindemann of Rammstein screaming in your face... *shudders*.

Japanese is a great language for other crap too, like... translating scans.

Meh, German's overrated IMO. But that's probably because it isn't too hard for me. Closely related to Dutch etc.

And besides, Dutch has more swear words than German anyways.

The zips? How bizarre. I wouldn't even like to guess at what their significance could be.

I submit the theory that it's a case of in-game product placement, a large zipper company advertising their products. Expect loads of close-ups on the zippers with the brand nice and big on it.

It could also indicate that a large, evil monster grows on their chests, and unzipping will release it and eat the world.

The zippers are magically interlinked, so every time the dude is overheated and he zips off, the chick's zipper goes down as well, blinding enemies with her boobs.

The zippers are the Ultimat Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything, contradicting the previous assumption of 42.

Both character's special attack / limit break involves zipping down and flashing the enemies.

Large, uncensored sex scenes will dominate the main storyline of the game.

Both characters have a fetish involving large, sharp swords and zippers.

Both characters have enormous amounts of chest hair, the zippers are magical seals made in ancient history to contain the evil contained beneath. Of course, it's released pretty early on or halfway in the game, to keep it lame.

etc.

Based on SE's current whoring of products for a bit of extra cash, I'd go with that.

:p
