Final Fantasy XII Sets Record

The latest installment in the Final Fantasy series has broken a record already - the role-playing game boasted the largest day-one availability of any Square Enix title to date. Square Enix had 1.5 million copies of Final Fantasy XII that blitzed North American retailers and customers last week. Another milestone of a sort was that with Final Fantasy XII it was the first time the publisher had ever set a concrete street date for one of its North American product launches. SE made sure all retailers had their copies, and held onto them, by October 31st. However FFXII has already racked up over 2.5 million sales in Japan - so still a ways to go yet!
