Cloud Strife To Appear As Guest Character In Other Games; No Remake of FFVII Planned

Famitsu recently has an eight page spread focusing on the character of Cloud Strife and interviewed Tetsuya Nomura regarding the history of Final Fantasy VII. Nomura stated that many fans had been requesting Square Enix to revisit Final Fantasy VII but it seems that the company dont have the project on the cards at the moment: "Fans are looking forward to an oft rumoured remake of FFVII, but I don’t believe this will happen for the time being" This is probably backed by the fact that Square Enix seem to be pushing the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII up until Final Fantasy VII's 20th Anniversary. A remake would be a fitting end to the compilation. Cloud Strife may not be away from gaming screens for much longer, as Nomura hinted at the possibility of Cloud appearing as a guest character in other games: "However, it’s possible that he will appear in other titles as a guest character." If that "oft-requested title" they referred to earlier this year isn't the remake then I wonder what it actually is. Hopefully it's Chrono Break. | ||

Yes. So was "Aerith". Well, a character named Aerith who looked exactly like the FFVII character and sold flowers in the slums, but apparently wasn't her.
