Chocobo Breeding to be added to Final Fantasy XI

Awhile back, Square-Enix announced that the FFXI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion pack would eventually receive and update that would allow players to breed their own chocobos. According to 1up.com, good ol' SE has given out a few more details on the update, tentatively scheduled for sometime in June. In order to breed a chocobo, players must first aquired an egg. Chocobo eggs will all have their own unique DNA, and some types will be more rare than others. The egg will have to be incubated for a period of one to three months, requiring daily checks to make sure it's alright. Additionally, how you raise your chocobo will affect its appearance and abilities. Should you have to leave for an extended period of time, you will need to engage the services of a stable-hand (read chocobo babysitter) at the Chocobo Stables. When the chocobo is old enough, you will even be able to mate it with another chocobo. Square-Enix also has plans to incorporate chocobo racing and other events at a later time. Neat. Kinda like Creatures or Pokemon. Shame I don't play FFXI though. Plus, one to three months... is kinda much. But then again, the reward is good. ...I think. |

Now everyone’s least favourite minigame from FFVII appears in an MMORPG! Yay! [/sarcasm] Well I dunno, it could be good. If it’s a lot less tedious than it was in FFVII. But since I can’t be arsed with MMORPGs, this doesn’t really affect me too much :p |

I know. They got Road Warrior prices goin on in there. And you gotta be careful cause if youre on a low level you get stuck with crap items. And you cant get a Chocobo, even if you have earned the cash. | ||
