One of the last two remaining Summoners of Madain Sari, Eiko is an orphen living in the ruins of the city. Under the care of the moogles who inhabit the area, she has become very mature for her age.
Though Eiko and her parents were not in Madain Sari, as Garnet and her mother were, when it was destroyed by Kuja, Eiko was orphened at a young age. For a short time, she was raised by her grandfather in the ruins of the city, but he passed away when she was only five years old. On her own, she turned to the moogles, who became her only family.
When she was rescued from a tree by Zidane at the age of six, she developed a crush on him, and led him to her home in Madain Sari. Despite her grandfather's last wishes that she not venture out on her own until she was sixteen, she decided to go with Zidane and the others. After the defeat of Kuja, rather than returning to Madain Sari, Eiko was adopted by Regent Cid and Lady Hilda of Lindblum.
