The most wanted man in the town of Treno, Amarant is a mysterious figure. He and Zidane first crossed paths in Treno when Amarant was working as a guard. In attempting to stop Zidane during a crime, he is blamed for it himself. Though accused, and wanted by the law, he does not attempt to prove his innocence, nor does he tell the tale to anyone, for he detests others meddling in his personal affairs. Indeed, he values his privacy a great deal, to the point that he is willing to go on, accused of a crime he never committed.
Working as a bounty hunter, he was later hired to kill Zidane. The victor of the battle, however was Zidane rather than Amarant. Fully expecting to be executed following his defeat, Amarant simply could not understand why Zidane instead chose to spare his life. It is because of a desire to understand this action that he decided to join Zidane and the others as an ally rather than remaining an enemy.
