The main character of the game. He has immense potential; despite his nature Headmaster Cid has high hopes for him. Squall is a bit of a loner, seemingly cold and uncompassionate to those around him. He hates the idea of having to rely on others- the only person one can count on is oneself. Keeping his feelings guarded, he would rather think than voice them. Determined and fierce, he attends Balamb Garden and trains to become part of SEED, an elite military force.
He wields a unique weapon known as a Gunblade, which can be upgraded with various items. His Limit Break is called Renzokuken and there are four types of attack; Rough Divide, Fated Circle, Blasting Zone and his ultimate Lion Heart. Having specific Gunblades allow him to learn this Limit Breaks.
