Wonder Square

The Wonder Square at the Gold Saucer, in addition to boasting the slightly more complicated Mog house game, also has a few other, simpler offerings.

Arm wrestling

The Arm Wrestling game in the Gold Saucer's Wonder Square is really just glorified button mashing. Hammer on the O button and try to outdo the simulated opponent.

It costs 100 Gil to play, and you win 2 GP for beating the Wrestler, or 1 GP for beating the Sumo Wrestler.

Wonder Catcher

The Wonder Catcher is a crane machine that could potentially dole out Ethers and Megalixers. You can also win 1-3 GP from it. But the vast majority of the time, you'll end up with either a Potion or nothing.

Super Dunk

Super Dunk is a basketball game that costs 200 Gil to play. Hold the X button to gain strength, and release to shoot... the trick to this game is getting the timing down. If you make a shot, you get another shot, and you win 1 GP per basket. If you can manage 10 in a row, you can go double or nothing. If you're really good, you can win a total of 300 GP before the game cuts you off.

Virtual Battle

Virtual Battle is a glorified Jan-Ken-Pon (or Rock-Paper-Scissors) game. It costs 200 Gil to play, and pays out up to 300 GP if you beat three opponents in a row (there is a glitch in the fourth opponent, however, which required you to lose the fourth match in order to win your 300 GP).

G-Bike

This game is the Escape from the Shinra Building all over again. You ride your motorcycle, and try to smack people with your sword while protecting your friends in the truck. Scoring 5000 points will net you 2 GP, and 10000 points gives you 10 GP and a Speed Source.

Snowboarding

A replica of Icicle Inn's snowboard course, it costs 200 Gil to play. You score is based on Time, Balloons Hit, and Technique (i.e. not running into everything in your path).

A score of 90 or better will win a prize. Prizes depend on what difficulty you're at. The Beginner course prize is 30 GP and a Safety Bit. The Expert course prize is 100 GP and an All Materia. The Crazy course prize is 300 GP and a Crystal Bangle.

Torpedo Attack

Torpedo Attack is a replica of the submarine mission in Junon. It costs 200 Gil to play, and you can win 20 GP. The object is to destroy the other subs.

GP Exchange

Not really a minigame, but GP Echange is where you trade you GP for prizes. In the wonder square, the prizes you can get are as follows.

  • 1GP: Potion
  • 20 GP: Ether
  • 80 GP: X-Potion
  • 100 GP: Turbo Ether
  • 300 GP: Gold Ticket
  • 500 GP: Carob Nut
  • 1000 GP: Gil Plus
  • 2000 GP: Exp Plus
