Years before Cloud Strife saved the planet from the threat of Meteor, another hero stepped forward to battle a different enemy. A young soldier, destined for an untimely fate must separate friend from foe and become the warrior he dreams of being.
But just who is the enemy? Who is this mysterious "Genesis"? What are his goals? How is he connected to the great Sephiroth? And what will it take to stop him?
Crisis Core is the fourth title in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Though not much is know about it at this time, it has been classified as an Action RPG, and will star Cloud's ill-fated friend, Zack, from the original game. Chronologically, the game is a prequel that takes place prior to the events of Before Crisis.
The game is currently in development for the Sony PSP, but no release date has been announced. Square Enix has implied, however, that they are aiming for a Japanese release sometime in the second quarter of 2007.
