In Final Fantasy 5 The life of the world is bound by four Crystals, each granting their own special power to mankind and their fantasies... from the wind that caresses the rolling hills, to the water of the rivers and oceans, to the blazing fire, and earth itself. But lately, the power of the Crystals has weakened, and an ancient prophecy comes true. The Final Fantasy V ending holds the truth.
In Final Fantasy 5, One by one, the crystals shatter, and as their power fades from the world of man, the evil they had held back for so long is freed once more. Now, an unlikely group must come together to stop evil in its tracks and save not, one world from ending, but two.
The Final Fantasy 5 game was released in 1992 for Super Nintendo. However, Final Fantasy V was not immediately released outside of Japan. The game was later rereleased in 1999 on Sony Playstation, and included updated CG video of scenes from the game.
The original Final Fantasy 5 game rerelease occurred in the bundle titled [i]Final Fantasy Anthology[/i], which also contained a rerelease of another of Square's popular Final Fantasy games, Final Fantasy VI (known previously as Final Fantasy III in the U.S. due to IV and V not reaching American shores at the time of their original release).
