Yuna is the daughter of the legendary High Summoner Braska, the summoner who most recently defeated Sin and brought the Clam to Spira. She has followed in his footsteps to become a summoner as she has decided to stop the threat that Sin poses to Spira, even if it is only temporary and will cost her her own life in exchange.
Yuna is a Japanese name that means night. A gentle, honest person and seemingly always apologetic, she is steadfast and determined in her role to obtain the Aeons she needs in order to complete her pilgrimage.
As a summoner, Yuna must travel to the many Temples located throughout Spira to do this. Her eyes are of different colors - the right one is green, the other blue... a testament to her half-Al Bhed heritage. She wears something similar to a Kimono and tied to her arms are flowing bands of pink and white cloth.
As a Summoner, her weapon is a staff that can be changed for others, with different abilities. Using her powers, she can summon the Aeons she manages to obtain. When she summons them, the player can control the aeon until it defeats the enemy, is defeated, or dismissed. Her Overdrive is called Master Summon which allows her to unleash an Aeon with its own Overdrive bar filled. Despite her seeming fragile nature, she can be one of the most powerful members in your team because of her Aeons. If you possess particular items, you can strengthen them. She can also use White Magic and an ability called Pray, which restores some HP to your three man party.
