Recently Square Enix released a logo they will be using this year to celebrate 25 years of Final Fantasy, but there is also another reason to rejoice this year too.
Its also been ten years since the first Kingdom Hearts was released. The fusion of Disney, Final Fantasy and RPG elements was an instant hit which has spawned a series that the company regards very high.

Square Enix and their Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy game for the Nintendo DS is set to be a first.
A first in the sense that it is the first game that will offer additional downloadable content and it wasnt confirmed whether this was paid or not.
However Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, has broken the news that the DLC containing downloadable songs would be sold by Square Enix over the Nintendo Network.

The sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, which divided fans of the series due to its linearity and presentation, is rapidly close to its release date.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 has already been available in Japan for a while now and with January 31st approaching, Western fans dont have long to wait.
Square Enix have released a video showing the different gameplay elements the player has and can use during the game such as gambling, combat, puzzles and maps you can explore.

In a move that is sure to garner interest, Square Enix have decided to drop the prices of many of their Final Fantasy games available on the Playstation Network in Europe.
Final Fantasy I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and Tactics: War of the Lions have had a reduction in their prices from £7.99 to £3.99
Also a price drop for Dissidia, Dissidia 012 - Prologus, and Dissidia 012 with them costing £9.99, £1.19, and £13.99 now.

In Final Fantasy XIII, Lightning was the main character while in FFXIII-2 she plays a smaller role, with Serah, her younger sister, playing the title role.
According to rumours today, via Andriasang, it may be possible for Lightning to join the party in FFXIII-2.
DLC being prepared not only will add story content but allow the recruiting of Lightning too.

Square Enix have released the official logo they are using to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its succesful Final Fantasy franchise.
The first game to bear the logo will be the upcoming NDS game, Theathrythm: Final Fantasy. Games releasing this year will also get the logo appearing on the boxset too.

Hot on the heels of trademarking Final Fantasy Dimensions this week, it has been discovered they have registered something called Sleeping Dogs too.
A member of the NeoGAF forums has again spotted this and speculation that it may tie in with the Kane and Lynch franchise.

Square Enix have been a bit busy in the last few days, trademarking something called Final Fantasy Dimensions in the US and Europe.
An intrepid NeoGAF user found that it was registered Januray 16th this year as well as the internet domain of FinalFantasyDimensions.com
As to what it could be is anyones guess- ranging from an upcoming Vita title, something from the 1st Production team or even a game that has been released already in Japan but will be getting a name change for the West.
